terms and conditions

1. Prices are per room per night and include breakfast and all taxes.
The maximum occupancy of each room, as specified in our rates information, may not be exceeded. Any guest attempting to occupy a room with more guests than specified on their booking confirmation will be refused accommodation or may be offered an extra room if deemed suitable.
Please note that all children should be advised at the time of booking and children under the age of 2 are not permitted in any room unless previously agreed with the management.
2. Payment:
Reservations should be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing by the management.
3. Cancellation policy:
As we are a small, privately-run establishment we prefer to have at lest 50% security that customers do not forfeit their reservation. We feel it would not be fair to potential customers to decline availability and then have reserved guests not turn up.
Peak season bookings: (Dec 20th to Jan 4th inclusive)
Guests may cancel or amend any reservation up to 30 days before the date of arrival and no charge will be taken.
Cancellation or amendment with less than 30 days notice but more than 5 days notice will incur a 50% charge.
Cancellation or amendment with less than 5 days notice (including no-show) forfeits the entire booking.
For reservations with multiple rooms this applies to each room.
Any monies already paid will be returned via the same method used for the original payment less any charges incurred by ourselves in the receipt or return of the payment.
Pre-season / Low season / High season bookings:
Guests may cancel or amend any reservation up to 5 days before the date of arrival and no charge will be taken.
Cancellation or amendment with less than 5 days notice (including no-show) forfeits the entire booking.
For reservations with multiple rooms this applies to each room.
Any monies already paid will be returned via the same method used for the original payment less any charges incurred by ourselves in the receipt or return of the payment.
PLEASE NOTE:
*We advise all guests to buy adequate travel insurance that will cover loss due to unanticipated cancellation caused by illness, emergency and so forth. We believe that with the low cost of travel insurance it is unnecessary to ask any hotel to bear loss in such circumstances.
*Guests should exercise good judgment in booking any aspect of a holiday. To arrive and decide to cancel due to any reason, which is not a fundamental failure of the management to provide the accommodation as described, is not a valid reason for refund. Terms and conditions, as above, will apply.
*Please also note all cancellations or modifications must be made in writing by email. Verbal cancellations over the telephone will NOT be accepted.
4. Check-in / Check-out:
Check-in time is any time from 14:00pm on the date of arrival. Earlier check-in can be arranged if your reserved room is not occupied on the night before your arrival, feel free to ask. Check-out time on the date of departure is 12:00pm (mid-day). If the room is not vacated by this time, the customer may be subject to another night’s charge.
5. Conduct:
Clients and guests are asked to respect the cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere of jivana, the management reserves the right to eject any guests or clients found to be conducting themselves disrespectfully or inappropriately.
Clients and guests are responsible for the behaviour of any visitors they bring on-site and in particular for the orderly conduct of said guests and in ensuring that no noise or nuisance is caused either to the management or to other guests or clients. Only registered guests are permitted lodgings, any visitor remaining after midnight must register and pay the full room tariff.

We do not accept responsibility if any death, personal injury, failure or deficiency of your accommodation arrangements is not caused by any fault of ours, meaning failure by ourselves to use reasonable skill and care in performing or providing the service in question. Please note it is your responsibility to show that reasonable skill and care has not been used if you wish to make a claim.
